San Jose #4

Sunday morning, again gorgeous and warm, eating a cheeseburger with the events of last night, twisted like pretzels in my memory. #1, the arrival of Danny, DG Gonzalez [with belle Ashley] on the streets of San Jose, he joined us at the soiree [held at the institute of contemporary art] and immediately began knocking down beers. The screening was at Camera 3, a smaller house, I just checked in being that I had to go to the closing ceremony at the California theater, but I watched a bit of the film before leaving. The house was packed, the film seemed to playing in almost slow motion, the audience got all the jokes, or there was one sick guy who influenced the whole house, the film looked great, though we do have upconvert problems, the motion's fucked up at times. The closing ceremony was good, I was just suffering from attention deficit disorder, I slid out to get a smoke, came back and all the filmmakers were on the stage, I joined them slightly tardy. The awards were given, [cinequest.org, there's probably a ton of fotos of us also] and I slid out and had a beer, My film had already ended, so I texted everyone, and received a text back we're just finishing the Q n A, I walked over to the theater, where they had just finished a 45 minute q n a, and it was all the actors on the stage. I think that's great, they are the direct reflection of the film that they audience saw, and I guess the audience really relished this discourse with them, so I when I caught up with them, they were pumped, real pumped. Off to original joes for cocktails, and Danny was off to Oaksterdam [Oakland], a slight disgress, they also call Santa Cruz, truckdriver town, [because of the butch lesbians who live there], the bay area, is just a little quirky.
The party was at s. 1st billiards, it was great, free beer and free pool tables, and mess of the evening goes to, it's a tie, Daisy and Hyewon. Back to hdqtrs, for california herbal remedies, and finally bed.
