We have become soldiers - strong and ruthless, Saturday nights screening was true success, Courtney and Daisy cannot walk a block without being recognized, everyone compliments them on their performance and how much they liked the film, now we're getting buzz, the word is out.. It's the last day of the festival, encore screenings. I've been hanging with Steven Meyer and his film "buried prayers" won best doc, the holocaust subject matter is not my taste, but the archeological slant is well handled-then onto "cost of a soul" a young philly dude, it's a festival hit, but I feel he needs another pass to sort out the narrative. a couple of really good performances in it. I go back to the hotel to clean myself and prepare for the academy awards party across the street at the crown royal hotel. Daisy and Courtney have a room there, 510, and we plan on throwing an after party there. I've been shooting super 8 the whole festival and it's kind of worthless after the sun goes down, but the hallway in the hotel has that flourescent bulb thing happening and I hope I have exposure, I set up a long tracking shot of about 10 people, 2 directions, one just normal for the first part of the track and then when I track back you are all seventies punk rock stars, needless to say, the track back was fantastic, even talking one of the security people into the track when I came back to him he was pogoing, fantastic. I found the san ho's quite interesting, they're really hungry and accepting of diverse knowledge. Cheri, one of the organizers, did the worm on the dance floor, another gal terri, jumped over a concrete wall, and megan had eyes only for Courtney. Courtney and Daisy are having fun with their new found fame, and I'm in the corner drinking a beer and smoking that fine california medical marijuana, of course later at the party I will be the one passed out on the bed. Yes, finally, I got the award for mess of the night.

So in closing the blog for san Jose, I should mention the two Cinequest awards we won, Best People of Color movie, and Best Urban Renawal movie.
